Remediation:
the findings, actually fixed
Remediation is the work of closing the gaps a reading found — entity and identity records, structured data, the form and substance of content, and the technical and trust signals underneath. OG01 either applies the fixes for you or specifies them precisely enough for your own team to execute without re-diagnosing anything. When the work has landed and been recrawled, the identical measurement is run again, so what changed is evidence rather than a status report.
Remediation starts from a reading. There is nothing to remediate until something has been measured.
What actually gets changed
Every item comes from a finding, and every finding names a specific thing in a specific place. There is no general "optimisation" line item, because there is no way to rescore one.
- Entity and identity records. Making your organisation resolve to one thing: consistent name, trading name, location, description and identifiers across your own site and the records that describe you elsewhere. This is the most common root cause and the least visible from inside a business, because each individual record looks correct to whoever maintains it.
- Structured data. Markup that states what you are, what you sell and where you operate, in a form a machine can parse rather than infer — deployed, validated, and kept consistent with the visible page rather than contradicting it.
- Content form and substance. Turning pages that circle a topic into pages that answer it in a passage that stands on its own. Frequently this is editing rather than writing: the answer is usually present and unstated.
- Technical and trust signals. Retrievability, whether substance is in the served HTML rather than assembled later in the browser, and the signals that let a system treat the page as dependable.
- Off-site corrections. Stale listings, superseded trading names, closed locations and contradicted claims sitting on directories and aggregators. Often the largest single block of work, and always the one customers least expect.
Done for you, or specified for your team
Most organisations mix the two: the off-site corrections and structured-data work go to us, the on-site content edits stay with the people who own the tone of voice. The specification is identical either way, which is what makes the split possible at all.
The order the work runs in
- 1 · Baseline. A reading you already hold. Managed remediation is never sold against an unmeasured domain, because there would be nothing to compare the result to.
- 2 · Scope. The roadmap is already ordered by impact, so scoping is a question of how far down the list this month reaches rather than which items matter.
- 3 · Execute. Changes are made, recorded and dated. Off-site corrections often involve requesting a change from a third party, which is why they take longer than anything on your own site.
- 4 · Wait for recrawl. Nothing is rescored the day it ships. Structured data and technical corrections can be picked up within days; anything depending on other sources corroborating you takes longer.
- 5 · Rescore. The same measurement, unchanged between readings, which is what makes the difference attributable to the work rather than to a changed method.
What remediation cannot promise
It cannot promise a ranking, a citation, an AI mention or a higher score. Those are outcomes produced by independent systems whose selection logic is not observable from outside, and any supplier promising them is promising something they cannot verify afterwards. What remediation can do is change the measured conditions, and what a rescore can do is show whether they changed — including when the honest answer is that they did not.
Timeframes are the same story. There is no reliable universal figure, and a supplier quoting one is guessing. Rescoring exists so you measure the lag rather than accept a promise about it.
Remediation questions
Do I have to buy remediation to use the findings?
What is a remediation unit?
Can you fix things that are not on my website?
Will you investigate why AI crawlers cannot reach my site?
How soon should the work be rescored?
Can remediation run across many sites at once?
Start with the free score. If the findings are worth acting on, the Full Intelligence Report turns them into an ordered plan — and remediation picks up exactly where that plan stops.
